creep

me and myself

年齡如流水般,驟已十八與星做伴
沒有別人來我心內敲門
而旁人從不知,亦懶靜聽我心內事

但我現能尋到解悶鎖匙

Sky watching is my new hobby

The pictures speak for themselves. The sky is just so pretty these days I couldn't help but always look up and appreciate how beautiful it is. I've taken plenty of photos of it using my cell phone and sometimes DSLR at home.  So glad that me and my friends have formed a secret Sky Watching Blub for sharing photos of the skies. (Yes, that's not a misspelt word! :-P) One thing is, the weather would have been so much better if the air wasn't that polluted. Sunny days. That's probably what I love and hate about Hong Kong's summers.

Beside those different shades of blue and white, I was lucky enough to capture this unbelievably breathtaking sunset the other Saturday. With that hot air balloon at the back, it feels like I've gone somewhere travelling. Oh how I wish I really am...

可悲的是,
當我連一點心跳回憶都還沒有的時候,
我便已經不相信愛。

The life I want, there's no shortcut.

Credits must be given to Of Stranger Sensibilities which triggered me to watch An Education. We've got this DVD at home and I've wanted to watch it for a long time but for the silliest yet truest reason, I forgot to do so. Finally, I finished the film last night as I couldn't fall asleep.

Fashion of the film is one big thing which deserves much attention. Jenny (starred by Carey Mulligan) looks exactly like a sweet modern version of Audrey Hepburn in those dressed up scenes. There was also a vintage white blouse that I love a lot but I couldn't find a picture of it anywhere. I also like it when she is in her school uniform. Mulligan really has this elegant disposition which makes you fall in love with her soon after you've watched her. Since Never Let Me Go is on my to-watch list, it means that I'd be wacthing her again. GREAT.

The title of this blog entry is undoubtedly my favorite quote from the movie. There have been a lot of witty conversations throughout the film, like the retorts Jenny makes whenever her father bans her from doing this or that. Must rewatch it later to grasp a better idea of them. Oh by the way, I'm surprised to see Emma Thompson playing the role of the headmistress. Reminds me of Much Ado and my Lit exam on Friday... Hmm, just thinking that certain themes of the film would possibly be useful for my essays.

Before dragging myself back to Shakespeare's world, I'd like to share this song called Write About Love by Belle and Sebastian featuring the adorable Carey Mulligan. Enjoy :-)

Lost and found

Here's a confession: there are just so many things that I love and get obsessed with. My friends would know, cause when we go have a day out, I often make those gasps and point at certain objects on the streets/ in the shops that I find really intriguing and beautiful. Just to name a few examples, colour-wise: turquoise; print-wise: Keep Calm And Carry On, English flag, russian dolls, butterflies; fashion item wise: socks, hats, oxfords, totebags; cartoon-wise: carebears, gachapin, le petit prince (I know they have extremely different styles...); instrument-wise: ukulele and bass guitar; animal-wise: pandas and dogs; icon-wise: Jim, Cheer Chen, Audrey Hepburn, MEG, Zooey Deschanel, JGL and the list goes on. Note that these obsessions aren't exactly my favorites. They are simply things that take my breath away whenever I come across them. Unawarely, I've been building up collections of some of them. So I think it might be a good idea if I can share them here. Let's do that bit by bit.

According to my computer's record, the first ever time that I saved  an Audrey Hepburn picture was in 2006. I can't remember why I did so. Till today I still haven't watched any films starred by her (have scheduled it for this summer!) I'm just so attracted by her smooth bun, her eyes, her smile, her Givenchy little black dress. All these in one word, her elegance. Here are a few pictures from my own Audrey Hepburn photo library.

Clockwise from the pinkish one.

Bought this ring about two years ago from a vintage shop in Hong Kong. I love it oh so much that I've been
wearing it every day until last Saturday when I've broken and lost the enamelled part of the ring. Even my
friends grieved with me cause they also think that the ring has become part of me.

After a week of misery, I got my Audrey ring back from the same shop. This time in turquoise
blue, a colour that I have never noticed before on their accessory shelf, probably a new one.
And so, another journey begins :-)

currently listening: Coldplay

My all-time-favorite brit band Coldplay has just released a new single after almost three years since Viva la Vida was out. I had got really hyped up last week by all those lines, images and short clips posted on their twitter. To tell the truth, though it may sound exaggerated, I've been listening to their previous albums in the past seven or eight days to get myself prepared for receiving this long awaited new material.

The first thing I did when I got home today was to purchase the track on iTunes and looped it over and over. I very much love they feeling of finally knowing how the lyrics are fit to the melody, or maybe the other way around. Turns out that this song isn't really what I've expected it to be. I thought it would be a sadder song. The song title sounds sad, doesn't it? Perhaps it's just me hoping that they can produce some new inspiring and comforting sad songs.. cause i need them now. A lot of them.

Lyrics are again composed of simple words that can make you whisper woah! Love how they mix straightforwardness and subtleness so well together. I don't quite know which is my favorite line, cause there are too many of them.

Now that I've listened to the real thing, I came to realize that the album artwork actually matches perfectly with the song. Equally colourful and give audience the summer/ festival vibe. I would love to see them performing the song live soon. For the meantime, I shall keep myself updated with the buzz of their expected album.
